Leveraging Unwanted Emotions to Make You More Money

Leveraging Unwanted Emotions to Make You More Money

Sep 03, 2022
It’s no secret that we don’t always feel motivated to go into work some nights. There are times where we have our off days. Everyone has them. It’s important to talk about our off days, and how on these days, it can be really hard to even get out of bed.

Thankfully, I am disciplined enough to get out of bed and go to work. But, I don’t always want to. Sometimes, I’d rather stay in bed curled up in my warm blanket and be in my happy place. But, I know the bed will always be there when I get back home. On my days where I don’t feel like going into work it can be really difficult to even want to try my best. On these days, I decide to use my lack of desire to be at work as fuel to push through.

I say to myself, “I know I don’t want to do this right now, but think of how happy I will be once my shift is over and I am able to actually lay back down in my bed having made more money and being ahead of my goals.” This is always such a satisfying feeling when I’m having a bad day, that my goals were actually accomplished despite how I felt. I end up being more thankful for how disciplined I am on these days than not.

If you’ve ever felt like you just don’t feel like going into work today, I know your pain. Sometimes we just don’t feel like it. We just don’t want to be there. But, that’s with any industry that you work in. Some days, you just don’t want to show up. And that’s okay, because your discipline and commitment will carry you through on these bad days. Leveraging your unwanted emotions by changing their narrative is so powerful. You change their narrative when you change their story. Instead of saying you really don’t want to be here and you want to go home, you shift your focus to “but when I’m done, I’m going to be richer, happier and more fulfilled inside and satisfied with myself.”
